Think he's better at creative writing than business though. Not a good idea to put all his eggs in one basket (i.e life savings) then expect someone to work for £7 p/h part-time as a chef and demand a high level of quality/production from them. He's gambling with his reputation by cutting corners like this.

Sounds like another Gordon Ramsay wannabe.

I wonder if his cooking is as good as his somewhat aggressive wit.

You'd think these chefs were digging coal with a pickaxe, they make it sound such hard unpleasant work.

Stuff that for minimum wage and maximum hours. :NoNo:

Exactly. Anyone would think they're building an airport in Hong Kong from scratch, the way they carry on.

I was thinking of my other job in HK too...proper grafting...and in 40C.

It's not much fun working in that kind of heat. You must have been sweating buckets.

Yes, very sweaty, especially as we had to wear waterproofs because of the constant water ingress. (We were tunnelling under the sea).
I actually grew to love the job. There was never a dull moment, and wished I'd gone into civil engineering at a much younger age. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Well, he got one thing right in the add .......... he sounds like a total "d*ckhead"! If he's previously attracted 400 unwanted applicants, then he's not done a very good job at communicating exactly what experience and skills he's actually looking for :ReadIt: .

He says the American Diner will be making breakfasts and sandwiches and that it's "semi fancy food", hardly sounds like fine dining. As the old saying goes, if you pay peanuts ....... you get monkeys
