If you want to visit the Philippines, anytime of the year will do. But if you do it in a peak season of celebration or holidays you will surely find it hard to book a hotel. The very important thing to know is the type of weather of the country you are going to visit to be able to adjust your activity schedules of what you are planning to do there. Since the Philippines is a tropical country, it is characterized by a relatively high temperature, humidity and plenty of rainfall.
The country experiences two types of season: the wet season and the dry season. The warmest months in the Philippines are from March to October during summer. The coolest months are the least humid, usually during January and February. You should also need to be aware that the Philippines is prone to typhoons since it is near to the Pacific Ocean. Typhoons in the Philippines are referred to as “bagyo”. The typhoon season of the Philippines is during June to early December.
........... In recent years, the Philippine weather has become more unpredictable. But many tourists are still visiting the country especially during the months when the country is at its best weather wise. This is during January to May when the weather conditions are at their best. This is referred to as the high tourist season of the Philippines. The rainy months of the country are during June to September. This the time of the year where the country experiences different intensities of rainfall, but some areas of the country aren’t raining at all.
........... The weather in the Philippines is managed by the government agency called PAGASA, which stands for Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration. They are the ones responsible for the monitoring and dissemination of updates regarding the weather of the Philippines.
........... There are different weather patterns in the Philippines. It is dictated by the prevailing winds which are known to the Filipinos for centuries: the southwest monsoon (which is referred to by Filipinos as the Habagat), and the northeast monsoon (which is referred to by Filipinos as the Amihan). The Habagat usually prevails from the months of May to October and this wind brings heavy rainfalls that may result in floods during the wet season, while the Amihan usually runs from the months of November to May and brings cold air to the shore of the Philippines.
