Hi guys.

I have my appointment for the Affidavit to marry on November 10th.

Arriving late evening on the 9th.

Can anyone recommend somewhere for us to put our heads down that's not really expensive and close ?

I looked at the Seda and F1 hotels and they are over 100 pounds per night.

They have swimming pools and stuff, but realistically we won't have time to do all that kind of thing unless we stay awake most of the night.

Thanks in advance.

I paid around 2000 peso a night for a hotel called Executive plaza, not for the Embassy, but it is only a 15 minute taxi drive away.

I was really impressed with the hotel, wifi and there was a macdonalds minutes walk away and Robinsons shopping mall 5 minutes walk away....

Probably not what you are after though I don't think if you aren't staying in Manila for long

Sounds great if it's only a 15 minute taxi drive from the Embassy.

There's a hotel around the corner called Tiara Oriental Hotel. Rooms start from £30 per night.

May I recommend Adriatico Arms Hotel in Malate.

I've stayed there a couple of times this year.

Really nice old-fashioned place, peaceful, clean, lovely staff, walking distance to Robinsons etc.

Around p1700 for aircon room with wifi.

Thanks Graham. How close is it to the Embassy?

More important question is how long does it take to get there..
Its not that far but all depends on trappic!
The Fort Budget Hotel is right on the Brit embassy`s doorstep.. It seems pretty cheap for that particular area. P1,600 per night for a room with queen bed or half that amount if you don't mind sleeping in a dorm..:icon_lol:

Cant recommend as not stayed there.

As Fred said...a taxi ride, but does depend on traffic.

There is a Tune hotel in Makati, which I've heard good reports about.

I have booked the Fort budget hotel.

We don't need swimming pools and loads of facilities as we are arriving late and just need to sleep.

Its 3km from the Embassy so that's the main thing.

£28 for a room.
