Looking 'out' through one of the several original gates to the city...keep going for another 40 miles after it, and you'll end up in Doc Alan's town (Scarborough).

You're lucky to live in such a beautiful city Graham, please don't knock it! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Tongue in cheek mate.

I suppose a place with 100,000 residents that receives 5 million tourist visits a year must have something going for it.

Great photos Graham, thanks for uploading :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I made the 40 miles trip to York from Scarborough this spring - always good for photography

Great pics Graham - are there any infestations of Roma beggars and pickpockets around the tourist attractions ?

That bridge is a bit like the Millennium Bridge in London that also had a movement problem - maybe the same dodgy designers/architects were involved :cwm25:

Cheers Dedders.

The bridge is designed that way mate. Not aware of anyone who has been tossed off it into the river yet. :icon_lol:

As for Roma parasites and criminals, well, I virtually never venture into the city centre these days, so can't comment.

Of course we've always had annoying 'buskers' stationed on practically every corner, as well as the usual assortment of smackheads and tramps with accompanying bull terrier, supplementing their benefits by begging next to the cashpoints . :NoNo:
