Lewis Hamilton didn't qualify yesterday as his car had a disc brake problem and I think he starts at the back. I wonder if he will pull something out of the bag today? :Erm:

Will watch the race this evening!

A really exciting race ! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Also, daft as it sounds, being one of the tracks I regularly race around on the Xbox, and 'knowing' all the corners, an extra dimension is added for me. :drivingx:

A little more bad luck qualifying for Lewis, a fire this time caused by a fuel leak, don't know for sure if he will race today we'll just have to wait and see. His team mate Nico is in Pole! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Just a shame they sound like Bumble Bees rather than screaming F1s. :yawn:

I'm sure lots of people must have been moaning about it, so hopefully next season the full flavour will be back.

Here's a quick replay of a lap around Monza I did this evening.

No F1 cars on this Xbox game, so I used my Gumpert Apollo, which is about 15 seconds a lap slower than a F1.

Quality aint brill, as I recorded it on my tab. Graphics in the actual game are brilliant, and the actual track and the car physics very accurate. :smile: 200mph along the start-line straight.
Give it a few seconds and I change it to the view I use when driving.

Actually I think the on-track action has been really good this season...just that the sound is so underwhelming.

Suzuka GP in Japan next... a great track, popular with the drivers, and also featured on my Xbox Forza4 racing, so added interest when you've 'driven' it so many times. :smile:

Didn't know about Bianchi until now. When watching the race, I heard about Sutil and that he was ok. Also Hamilton's win then switched off. What bad luck for Bianchi. Hope he makes a full recovery soon so that he can get on with his career. Keep fingers crossed!

With Lewis on 334 points and Rosberg on 317 points mathematical permutations of just how the title can be won or lost come into focus with a double point last race in Abu Dhabi on November 23

Here's how the points get awarded:-

1st = 50
2nd =36
3rd = 30
4th = 24
5th = 20
6th = 16
7th = 12
8th = 8
9th = 4
10th = 2

It's an added nail biting dimension to the 'local' rivalry.

C'mon Lewis

KeithD

Double points is a pathetic idea by some idiot.

He would only have won if he'd got out the pits first. He had ample opportunity to overtake Rosberg during the last 12 laps, but only tried to force him into an error. He knew it wasn't worth risking his points trying to overtake the idiot.

Terpe
11th November 2014, 09:57
Lewis Hamilton has shown himself to be best driver this season with the fastest drives in the best car.

If he doesn't win the title solely down to this nutty new double points game then F1 will not only look stupid the fans will be livid. :doh

KeithD
11th November 2014, 10:12
If they wanted double points in the last race, they should do what Indycar does. Have two races on the same day.

Trefor
11th November 2014, 14:36
Initially I thought the double points rule mean't 50 points for the winner, then 18 for second and so on. Since I realised that second place gets 36 points I'm not so upset about the rule. Lewis needs to finish the race then win the championship - if he finishes then he's bound to finish in the front four anyway.

Terpe
11th November 2014, 22:38
Title permutations for the final race:-

Hamilton, 334 points.......................Rosberg, 317 points
How the Briton can win the title.......How the German can win the title:
Finish ahead of Rosberg................ Win the race with Hamilton third or lower

Finish no lower than 2nd if Rosberg wins.....Finish second with Hamilton sixth or lower

Finish fifth or better if Rosberg doesn't win..... Finish third with Hamilton seventh or lower

Finish sixth or better if Rosberg is not in the top two......Finish fourth with Hamilton ninth or lower

Finish eighth or better if Rosberg misses out on the podium...... Finish fifth with Hamilton 10th or lower

Finish ninth or better if Rosberg is fifth........Should Hamilton not score any points, Rosberg still must finish no lower than fifth to overturn the 17-point deficit.
