I don't think it will be long before they join the EU.

On May 28, Ukraine moved one step closer to securing visa-free travel to the European Union.

So let's get this straight........

The EU is thinking of introducing visa free travel, to a country which isn't part of the EU, and which more importantly, is experiencing extreme threat in its east, where there is a possibility still of civil war, and where (Call it what you want) an elected government was recently overthrown by a mob.

Oh and their economy isn't at the level of most of Europe's, and what's more there's a chance of the economy going down the proverbial creek because Russia is insisting they pay full market value for energy supplies.

And asking again - the EU is deciding to introduce visa free travel, so people there can walk straight in to countries like France, Germany, the UK and Sweden?

Right!

Adding to the news, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jan Tombinski said on May 26 that Ukraine is “months away” from being able to travel freely to the 26 nations that make up the Schengen Zone within the EU by year-end.

The UK and Republic of Ireland have opted out
