Everton Embarrass Arsenal at Goodison

Arsenal's permanent residency in the Champions League is under severe threat after a 3-0 defeat to top four rivals Everton.

Steven Naismith, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas reflected a gulf in class between the sides in what was the latest harrowing away defeat for Arsene Wenger.

If Arsenal's first heavy beating to a top four rival was unfortunate, the second was an accident and the third an unhappy coincidence, their latest major malfunction suggest a deeper malaise.

Everton joined Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea in what is now amounting to a duck shoot when Arsenal visit tough venues. The Londoners have conceded 20 goals to their competitors for top four positions, the majority in the first half.

The repercussions of this defeat may be the most serious as Everton now have Champions League qualification in their own hands. The sobering reality for Arsenal supporters is for the first time since Wenger took over at Arsenal, Everton looked the more progressive side.

Well they've virtually been handed the FA cup this year. I'm just waiting to see if they mess that up as well.
