Thanks Dedworth. I think the first challenge will be to pass the A1 English test. I hope there will be a prep course available for it.

Which visa are you planning ?

It will probably be the Fiancée Visa.

OK ABC123, as a very first step please try to take some time to review this thread and follow as many links as you can to the UKVI webpages. (some may no longer be good)

All New Guide - How to apply for a Fiance Visa (http://filipinaroses.com/showthread.php/39869-All-New-Guide-How-to-apply-for-a-Fiance-Visa)

Read this and again follow as many 'good' links as possible - Applying for a UK visa in the Philippines (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/countries/philippines/applying/?langname=UK English)

The UKBA advises all applicants to read their Application Guidance Notes (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/visas/vaf2-8b-guidance.pdf) together with their Supporting Documents Guidance (https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/270197/sup-docs-settlement.pdf)

You can search here in the forum for any areas/topic of concern or you can ask as many questions as you need right here in your thread.

Take this journey step-by-step, don't be shy to ask as many questions as you need.
There's plenty of folks here who have been down the same road and made that same journey.
Everyone here is friendly and willing to share experiences, and to make sure to get that special visa.

Some early steps for you both to consider:-

- be sure to meet the English language requirement (https://www.gov.uk/remain-in-uk-family/knowledge-of-english)

- follow the requirement for TB Screening and secure a 'positive' certificate before you submit any application.
Here's the needed detail - Tuberculosis testing in the Philippines (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/tuberculosis-test-for-a-uk-visa-clinics-in-the-philippines/tuberculosis-testing-in-the-philippines)

Hope that helps in your thinking.....happy reading
