I bought a Tosh not long ago & made a point of not getting a touch screen one - it's a laptop with a perfectly good keyboard not a tablet. I don't see the point of encouraging mucky prints all over the screen.

I have a Lenovo think pad and a few weeks back it packed up and diagnosed as a motherboard failure which was somewhat disapponting being just over 2 years old and out of warranty.
I thought it worth writing a letter to them expressing my displeasure etc and to my amazement they agreed to the return of the laptop, repaired it F.O.C. and it works perfectly again.
I doubt that not too many manufacturers would be that sympathetic so full marks to Lenovo and I hope u get many years enjoyment from yours.

Stinkpads are excellent I bought two recon ones in 2011 from a recommendation on here circa £90 each. Wife immediately gave one to her then 12 year old nephew back home, he's had untold use out of it, still going strong but it's made him too much of a computer expert as he's making noises about wanting something more powerful  Lenovo also own Medion Computers

I used to have a job shipping computer parts to different places for a short while. We also made laptops for most of the big name brands. The only difference in the laptops was the price the big brands sold them for!

Correct - they're German and used to assemble their machines there - I bought one of their desktops in 2005 from that now defunct German retail outfit Tchibo, good solid machine I gave it away when I upgraded but still used the monitor until it gave up 2 weeks ago.

Just had a look at the Lenovo web site.

Never heard of them before. Some good machines there.

My fiancée says they do mobile phones in the phils too.

Lenovo was founded in Beijing in 1984 as Legend and was incorporated in Hong Kong in 1988. Lenovo acquired IBM's personal computer business in 2005 and agreed to acquire its Intel-based server business in 2014. Lenovo entered the smartphone market in 2012 and as of 2014 is the largest vendor of smartphones in Mainland China. In January 2014, Lenovo agreed to acquire the mobile phone handset maker Motorola Mobility from Google.
