I'm looking to get some treatment done while I'm there. I'll of course check the web . I would like to know if anyone here has had any personal positive dental experiences and would like to share ?

Regard
Mark

Just had one of my back teeth pulled out.. I`m scared of dentists BTW..
Far better experience than what I experienced in the UK..
I asked him when he was about to yank it out.. He said,"Its already out"!!
This old fella was really good.. Seems he was in a private practice in Detroit for a good many years before he got to me!!

It must have been loose Fred. When I had a tooth out a few months ago, the dentist was pretty much dragging me across the room by it. Believe me, I knew when it was out and when it wasn't. :icon_lol:

I havent been on any dental clinics in Manila but our dentists in Davao are very good. They were husband and wife that works in Davao Doctors Hospital Outpatient Building, my husband Paul prefers the lady dentist and I am under the husband, Doc Gary. They were expensive like P500 for prophylaxis which is way more cheaper compare here in the UK.

I'm sure someone will recommend one from Manila but in case you drop by in Davao then seeing The Batillier dentists is worth a go. Goodluck to you! xxx

Yes I know a great female dentist in Pasig
I had a crown and a bridge done at this place
Crowns were 5k each when compared to the uk its very cheap :xxgrinning--00xx3:
All work was done to my total satisfaction and that was around 3 years ago
The crown and bridge are still going strong today

Good price LM, if that's still the going rate:xxgrinning--00xx3: Much better than paying £600 per crown. With the other work needed doing as well, the savings should pay for the whole holiday, let alone just the flight...I don't feel so guilty now taking this break so soon after having one in January.

Good for you :xxgrinning--00xx3: NHS slots are few and far between where I live.

Being the generous guy I naturally am, I'd rather the deprived folks take those British tax payer funded options, which was the original purpose of setting up the NHS in the first place.

I learn something everyday day gWapito, i never knew the NHS was set up for deprived folks only, i thought it was for everyone, rich or poor , funny my misses never asks to see anyone's bank balance before being treated :doh

i am a taxpayer :icon_lol: i see you would rather go private so they only
have to work a couple of days a week and pay for their gold plated golf clubs

Okay, I stand corrected. .it was set up for everyone, rich or poor. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Times have changed somewhat since those days.

I prefer private. .without going over old ground again, with my experiences the treatment is by far superior be it at a hefty premium.

Even worth the expense of going halfway around the world for it. This coming holiday and the female company for the duration is an added bonus :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I had a tooth pulled once by the NHS.. They stuck the needle straight in my gum which wasn't pleasant.. When they started pulling it was as Lani described..
The dentist here put on a local anesthesia cream before the needle.. Didnt feel that at all.. He then very gently removed the tooth which was next to my wisdom tooth and it wasnt loose..

That's what I found. ..I didn't like the rough handling, coupled with fact they didn't like 'wasting' pain killing meds.

400 pesos for all that work:yikes: Definitely more fun in the Philippines :Jump::xxgrinning--00xx3:

I did say with my experiences, the private treatment is superior. I'm not talking about your NHS practice or anybody elses NHS practice. You should brush that chip off your shoulder, Joe

I've already explained why Joe ...handled roughly without enough pain relief. Good enough reason in my book
