Just had a quote to fell a 30ft Lleyandii conifer with disposal as well for £300.

It would be a full days work requiring 2 guys, need to get rid as it is blocking so much sun from the garden and basically the new lawn is suffering also need to make the little one a nice play area.

Is this a good price, anybody had similar work done?

Woudn't risk it Steve, it's massive and also I haven't a clue about this sort of thing plus its on the edge of a neighbour's property, one false move and all hell could break loose ie: lawsuits if damage is caused and if the chainsaw slips then :behead::laugher:

Think I will leave it to the pros...

wise words, the biggest problem is getting rid of the big thing too, if you did it yourself

I would say that is a fair price mark

Start at the top and work down, using a ladder tied off two thirds up so it can't fall.

Even if someone has to come and finish it off and take it away...half the price ?

I hate paying people to do stuff I can do myself.

Make sure that you're not dealing with Pikeys, check they have relevant insurance cover and will be disposing of it properly. Get references.
