Maybe I am not looking hard enough but I cannot see any other posts about this event this year,

28th June in the date, the same place as last year, Ripon racecourse.

I will be going with the wife again this year, who else is thinking about going?

The London date is the 19th July. Depending who is preforming we might attend this one as well as my wife had family living only a few yards from Walton-on-Thames.

I hope it is back in York as i did not like the one in Ripon as much..

Definitely in Ripon, its on the 28th June 10am to 5pm, The Race course is a great venue, the staff are very supportive of the event, the parking is better and its a lot easier to get to as its only 10 mins from the A1.

It also means as we live in Ripon the 10 plus site meetings beforehand, and getting the tents etc to the venue is a lot easier, the last time it was in York I was on site until 11pm the night before and back on site at 6am on the morning of the event.

The other problem with the York venue was that the Council received complaints about the noise, the rubbish left in the park, damage to the grass etc etc, the clean up bill was over £500.

It was also touch and go, that the event wasn't cancelled as the park was flooded the week before. As it's next to the Ouse this is not something we can risk as you can't insure against it.

I will try and keep you all informed about who the special guest is this year!

Cheers Andrew

Shame about the clean up bill as there were bins around and I never knew that section flooded...

Also surprised about the noise complaints... it's a shame, but hey ho... The one a couple of years ago near Tang Hall, York was good though not as good as Ripon for parking etc

The day before the event there was a pond in front of the stage! Quite a worry for my wife as the stall holders come from all over the country, never mind the Filipinos coming for a good day out!

Can you imagine that scenario!

Near certain we'll be going, but blimey I really don't want to be thinking about June right now. It's only February :icon_lol:

I enjoyed the York ones and the Ripon one.

Not surprised the miserable gits in York complained, and the equally miserable council charged you. :NoNo:

But...I'll be in the Phils at that time this year. :Jump:

Have a good one. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

If we could afford a trip to the UK this year, I would have loved to have gone to this with the family, also really want to go to the Great Yorkshire Show as well, something I've never been to (been to the Royal Bath & West which is superb). These events are always great value for money.

The Great Yorkshire Show is a fantastic event Ricky, but you need to watch the weather forecast and plan carefully how to avoid the traffic jams, and where to park. It's not too far to walk to from the bus or rail station though.

It seemed a lot better attended when I went last year. Shame.

I hope they did well anyway.... perhaps bring it back to York next year if our horrid ripoff jobsworth council can be circumvented.

Blimey, as an aside....just noticed I've got 2 silver stars now ! :Jump:

Thats a bit sneaky is Ripon racecourse in the back of beyond ee bar t'At North Yorks Moors ? The London Barrio Fiesta (name unchanged) is now in Surrey, with crap transport links (ie Marco can't tube train the punters in) all in the cause of maximising profits

Actually Ripon is pretty accessible, as it's next to the A1 (well, about 4 miles off it).

Nice little town on the edge of the Dales...11 miles North of Les-land.

The video is very good, attendance was a bit down compared to last year. The weather didn't help, but at least the rain stayed away, there were a lot of people sat in the stands. This is why the race course is the best venue, as we can get 100's of people under cover.

I also think Piolo was a bigger draw than Jerrico, although the show he put on was very well received by everyone.

Big thanks to all those who attended!

We were all set to go until my wife told me it was her mum's birthday on the 28th and she was on skype chatting to her from 6am - 7pm.

Of all the days to pick for her birthday. :icon_lol:

Will be looking at the dates for the Manchester one now.
