Manila - the culinary capital of the world? :Erm:

It's not even the culinary capital of the Philippines! :icon_lol:

2. Tokyo and Moscow, the World’s Richest Cities

Well, based solely on my experience certainly they can be the most hellishly expensive places.
Not sure if that equates to richest. Maybe

6. Thimphu, the World’s Cheapest City

This place has actually been on my 'bucket-list' for ever.
I really hope I'll get a chance to go some day ........oddly, just haven't been able to afford it so far

11. Tokyo, the World’s Safest City

Can't argue with that. Totally correct.

Well......earthquakes and tsunami aside.

Although Tokyo may be the most dangerous city in Japan though.
Japan IMHO is the safest country in the world by a country mile.
I'd move there at the drop of a hat..............if I could get a long term visa. (my wife fully agrees too)

Understand your opinion Jamie.....but Manila does have very many truly exceptional world class restaurants.
Many many more fantastic eating places than I could ever imagine ........thank you Kris TV for the tips :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hmm don't think the Philippines is that great for food, would not be in my top 20 :doh

Haven't been to Tokyo. But for me, Singapore is one of the safest place I've been!

I was speaking to a well traveled Russian gentleman a few months ago who had been everywhere. Guess which country he thought was the safest?

The U.K

I like the way guidebooks describe Pattaya as a town given over to prostitution and should be avoided at all costs :icon_lol:

Singapore is certainly clean and very safe but I found I missed the chaotic madness of places like Bangkok and Manila

Like Hong Kong Singapore is very expensive so for kuripots like myself it's best avoided

If you think about it Jamie, he's correct!:xxgrinning--00xx3:I would have plumped for one of the Scandinavian countries as the safest, and maybe Singapore, although I do reckon the U.K is up there, certainly a lot more safer than the U.S.

I was surprised to see Japan mentioned but Peter knows more than I do about the land of the rising sun.

Reykjavik was always a very safe city. Whenever I stayed there I never saw a single police officer.
I was told there's only a few hundred in the whole of Iceland since there's no crime.
Then I was told the only crime is due to immigrants.

Wouldn't want to live in Reykjavik.

That's what I was always told in Japan.............only foreign immigrants make crimes.
The Yakuza don't count

Wouldn't want to live in Tokyo.......too many foreigners
