iam looking for a flight to manila around the 21st of december and return on the 31st becuase i would love to surprise my gf by turning up unannounced dressed as santa clause :santa: but as i will only be there for a short period of time i will only go if i can find a flight cheap enough. Looking around the net at the moment it doesnt look as if my plan is possible. Any tips or if anyone comes across any cheap flights from the uk please let me know cheers :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I'd say that you've got very little chance of finding a cheap flight prior to Christmas. However, there are often some bargains around in the period between Christmas and New Year.

I'm tempted to fly with China Southern despite the awful reviews :cwm25:, because it sounds like an adventure, and I'm not in a rush...and I'm happy to sleep in the bogs with my packup and bottle of water (which sounds more comfortable than some other passengers have experienced :icon_lol:).

Reviewers moaning about the wine and food...not bothered. Don't drink alcohol on planes anyway. Food HAS to be better than my cooking.

Cabin staff rude and don't speak English...will be like shopping in Tesco. No problem.

Flight delays....not too bothered, as it breaks the journey.

Cheap as chips. Under £500. :Erm:

It's the flight delays that will screw you if you miss a connecting flight.

Yeah...but all flights/connections will be through them...no onward ones (like to Cebu etc). :Erm:

Some people have better things to do than spending 30+ hours trying to get to the philippines

We got a cheap flight with Thai air to Bangkok a couple of years ago, flew out Christmas morning.
