Fat Sam or AVB I think

Pete/London

AVB may be gone before the night is over, trouble is who will his replacement be.
Sherwood,:doh
Freund, maybe
Cappello, friend said he was there today commentating.
Hoddle,:yikes:
Di Canio, have him for a week to shaft the players.

Don't know who had the say on who was bought, but no creativity in midfield, bad tactical approach and team choice.
Also sold Caulker, no one knows why:Erm:

I heard a couple of points on Talk..... this am

a) Different era then when instant success was not a requirement
b) Ferguson was a proven manager having broken the 'Gers/Celtic domination and won the ECWC with Aberdeen

Moyesy survived 11 years at Everton not winning a thing - if he is Man Utd calibre why didn't other big clubs snap him up ?

Moyesy survived 11 years at Everton not winning a thing - if he is Man Utd calibre why didn't other big clubs snap him up ?
Well that's true but he did turn Everton into a decent team, and I think he would have won stuff eventually.
The way I look at it is this,we have been in decline for a while.
Teams cannot dominate for ever,We have had 20 years and have become the most successful English team of all time.
That has finished now and like the great Liverpool team of the 70s/80s we have to start again.
So for a first season I can live with a trophy-less year or even a bit more as i have witnessed my team dominate English football for years and years.
Many of you on here will never see your team dominate like United did.
I said to a fella the other day,if we never won another trophy in my lifetime,i still have been lucky to have had so many highs.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

What is wrong with the officials lately, they have made some terrible decisions, most getting he offside wrong. Offside could easily be managed by technology, so going by the goal line technology we can expect its implementation in 3026 :cwm25:

Great NON goal by Newcastle yesterday. At the Liverpool game they missed a clear handball, and then gave a penalty that wasn't. :doh

£250m wiped off value of United in a month

The value of Manchester United has dropped by a staggering quarter of a billion pounds in the last four weeks.

Despite registering their first win of the year on Saturday, United lost three games on the bounce prior to that - for the first time since 1992 - and it appears to have been having a knock-on effect on its New York Stock Exchange share price.

The club lies in seventh position, ten points behind table toppers Manchester City and five adrift from the Champions League places.

The Glazer family took control of United in 2005 and the club floated on the NYSE last year.

At the close of trading last night, its shares were $15.16 each. The highest they have been since floating has been $19.34, on February 8 last year.

James Igoe, a Private Client Director at XCap, told the M.E.N that United face an uphill battle to finish in the top four and also then retain its massive fan base in China and the Far East.

He said: "The club peaked in May when they won the league and was worth $3.1bn, the most the club has ever been valued at.

"Now though, it is worth $2.5bn, down 12 per cent in the last four weeks and 20 per cent on May last year.

"I have always been quite negative on the prospects for the club floating. Because they are going to have to have as much success in the next four to five years as they had in the past, say, ten years.

"I can't see how they are going to extrapolate that sort of growth. United have driven a lot of growth in China and the Far East and had a lot of success. I think the fan base is running the risk of being diluted by Liverpool and Manchester City."

He added: "At the moment it has become more difficult to have that faith in the share price when you are buying into the company."

Mr Igoe also drew parallels with Tesco's current situation.

He said: "For a long time Tesco was an extremely successful stock and they were able to exhibit that because all the share price did was go up. But then that came to an end.

"And last Christmas Tesco came out with a profit warning which had never done before."

He added: "If United are in threat of not getting into the Champions League that will cause serious problems. Often big advertisers who come on board will have pre-conditions and will only sign up if they are going to get into the Champions League."

Simon Reeks, Head of Private Client Investment Management at Midas Investment Management Ltd, said: "Man Utd is trading on a premium rating of 12.3x forecast Ebitda. At that lofty premium there leaves no room for error as the correlation between winning matches and the share price strengthens. Our view, is that Man Utd is a global brand that will go from strength to strength and if the shares were too dip materially further they should be bought."

37 - 40 million for Mata, yes he is a good player but way way over the price for the guy. Desperation and panic is setting in.

We at the end of an Era, we now have to dismantle and rebuild - no-one goes on forever.

Same thing happened to Liverpool and now it's us.

Getting one of your best players is just what we needed and upon the big two returning we have something to build on.

Like I have said before, United and Liverpool have won more titles then the rest of you put together and if we win nothing so be it.

That can't be taken away and most people will only dream of 13 titles in 20 seasons.

Moyes wont be going anywhere, he will rebuild and hopefully make the right choices - I believe he will - time will tell.

KeithD

You can't judge Moyes on half a season, a manager needs at least 18 months to put his own team together, although most do not get that long.

A lot of people seem to be blaming the manager, and yet he has been using Fergie's team, and they are the ones playing crap. They proved the other night that they can't even get the ball on target during a penalty shootout. :doh

stevie c
25th January 2014, 10:44
Moyes does not know how to get the best out if fergies players for some reason they dont seem to want to play for him they are all over the place
Les you cannot blame injuries look at arsenal when they had no wilshere no walcott no podolski they were & are still top of the pile it is a squad game so blaming injuries just dont wash

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 11:03
Of course it washes, when you missing two top strikers
It makes a huge difference!
If you have decent midfield scorers you can get away with it.
We used to get goals from all over the park.
As if the players don't want to play for Moyes lol
They enjoy win bonuses Steve!
Keith is totally right
Give the guy til end of next season let him build his own team.

stevie c
25th January 2014, 11:06
Les you still have two top strikers in wellbeck & hernandez or don't you rate them? Both international strikers

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 11:28
No, they are only average

Wellbeck still learning, hernandez is not the player from when we first signed him

The 8 games where Rooney and persie started produced 6 wins 2 draws!

stevie c
25th January 2014, 11:37
In all fairness hernandez doesn 't get a run of games always seems to find the back of the net when he does come on in my view he is a fantastic striker

As for wellbeck i believe he is pass the learning stage ie played champions league, played at international level premier league winners medal i would say that takes him pass the learning stage

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 12:10
Hernandez is more super sub category
Wellbeck is average
Rooney is quality
Van persie world class

stevie c
25th January 2014, 12:17
Imo if rooney & hermandez each played 30 full games for untd in a season i would put my money on hernandez to score the most goals

KeithD
25th January 2014, 12:21
Wayne Rooney is in new contract talks. With ManU a bit buggered at the moment they are probably going to have to give him anything he asks for.

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 12:54
I would put my money on Rooney to be more effective.

He has been great in the games he has played.

No one in the United side would outscore persie.

He won us the title on his own virtually as manchini comments.

Getting matu is a great buy
Someone to build a new team around.

stevie c
25th January 2014, 13:04
Mata i very good player but not worth the 37 mil being quoted
But have to disagree with you on rooney herbandez is an natural out & out goalscorer something rooney isn't hence why the great fergie was playing him in a central midfield role last season

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 13:18
Steve you won't find a man utd fan out there who would play hernandez over Rooney

stevie c
25th January 2014, 13:47
I beg to differ there les goals win games

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 14:00
I like hernandez don't get me wrong but as Alan green said on 5 live he is less effective when he starts a full game

Rooney contributes far more to us winning games
Why has Rooney be rated so well for a season and a half
Just look at stats Rooney playing or hernandez
Getting bored of this one now

Let's agree to differ.

stevie c
25th January 2014, 14:14
Yep we beg to differ

But what i cant understand utd fans are moaning they have no rooney or van persie but moyes still doesn 't start with hernandez just find it baffling that you are struggling & you don't play an out & out striker

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 14:29
Ferguson did not start him either!

It's possible he plays off a target man - we dont have one

I'm not moaning as said before our domination is over
Time to rebuild

stevie c
25th January 2014, 15:13
No fergie didnt play him but the difference being you wasnt struggling under fergie

les_taxi
25th January 2014, 15:37
