Sorry about this guys SHOUTING, but read the first few lines..
Anyone know if the applies to the UK?
This is the question:-
I'm a foreigner living in the Philippines and married with Filipina.
my wife left me in 2002 and went living with a Filipino Man.

Its several years now that she keeps promising to file annulment then
always delaying tactics.
This is a reply:-
BY THE WAY, IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU WERE MARRIED IN THE STATES OR IN THE PHILIPPINES. AN AMERICAN CAN STILL GET A DIVORCE IN THE STATES AND REMARRY IN THE PHILIPPINES, BUT THE FILIPINA WILL STILL HAVE TO GET AN ANNULMENT TO REMARRY. IF YOU HAVE QUESTION I MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP (KBURNS7119@YAHOO.COM). I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY FILIPINA WIFE

Any one know of a web page where I can find if this applies to UK law?

I've researched this (a lot) and after one year I can apply for
Legal Separation

What I STILL cant find is what my ex is entitled to regarding settlement of goods:Help1:

I am not married, but i am sure i found out about this before - it all depends where you get married and was it registered in your home country... So some more info will be required..

Is she not aware of the strict adultery laws in the Phils...ie...JAIL ?

Foreigners can also be caught out , so beware. :cwm25:

It's only the Filipina who is bound by the archaic Catholic NO DIVORCE rubbish in the Phils.

It doesn't stop a foreigner getting a divorce from his Filipina partner in his own country, as far as I'm aware...no matter where the marriage took place, as long as he has the marriage certificate.

Anyone else care to comment ?

:Erm: What? in the R.P?
Cmon.. You know theres no divorce over here!!
If he wanted to put her and the other bloke in a cell for up to 5 years then that is possible but the evidence has to be pretty air tight..

Sorry Dopey.. I dont know the answer to your question so I`ll just shut up!

Divorce in the R.P?

Although they don't give specific details of how they arrange these "Divorces",I think it has something to do with the girl becoming a Muslim!!
I could be wrong though.

...well fred, you must be wrong or i might be wrong but everybody knows , that if you got the money to pay a lawyer , he can work his ways to do his job and win the case.

I advised ''dopey'' to talk to a lawyer , why dont we just wish the OP good luck..he don't want to share his money to the greedy EX wife , which is understandable in my opinion.

Yeah but they don't give specific details..
I assume we will need new proper Muslim names for starters..
What about..
Hous Bin Pharteen or Haid D'Salaami ?

why dont we just wish the OP good luck.

I`d rather just tell him the truth and then he can prepare his own luck..
Did you know that there are lawyers here that will for a large fee prepare application forms that put a foreigner as a majority share holder of a corporation and then tell him its legal?
Good luck with that!

You can get divorced in England just as soon as:-

- you meet residence requirements.
- you meet grounds for divorce.
