RS2000 Mk1. (with basically a 2 litre Cortina engine).

If genuine, worth anything up 30 grand or more... ridiculous. :NoNo:

Rather have one of these for a fraction of the price, if paying for 'originality'.

Do you think the RS1600 was the better car Graham?

MK1 Escorts are overpriced over here now. I had one as my first car. Rust included for £200 and £200 to insure it.It spent the next 2 years modifying it/painting/new engine etc. while at University (they had grants back in those days).

Did they even sell this model out there? One of those Peugeot 504s might be a better bet for those roads.

Undoubtedly....and much more desirable (RS1800 too).

Both great cars I agree, but the Avenger Tiger was a Hillman, a BRITISH car, and I also happened to have had one of the lesser models as my very first car (company) when I was 19 years old, so clearly I'm biased.

The Talbot Sunbeam (and Lotus Sunbeam) shared the Avenger's floorpan, didn't it ?

Lots of Fords out there right up to the mid-90s.

I remember on my first trip to Manila being taxied around in a MK3 Cortina.
