hello people:Hellooo:

i will be in manila with my gf for 2 nights in august. Im looking for a cheap hotel that is relatively close to the domestic airport and not far away from the mall. We wont be spending too much time in the hotel so basically im looking for somewhere that is fairly priced and in a good location to get around.

any advice would be great, cheers :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I stayed at Sogo Drive-Inn (EDSA/Corner FB Harrison in Pasay...there are 2 different Sogos on EDSA). Decent aircon rooms from 950-1500 pesos.

10 mins from the Domestic Airport, 10 mins walk from the LRT station on EDSA, where you can catch a 15 peso ride to Ermita, Malate area, and 5 mins taxi from Mall of Asia/Manila Bay.

i booked a room at the tune hotel, only £54 2 nights double room. although i think we might have to pay for a few extras but cant moan cos the price is cheap. Its only 10 mins walking distance from robinson mall and rizal park is close by and also the museum. cheers for telling me how much i should be paying for a taxi, last time i was in manila they seemed to just make up the prices as they went a long lol

Tell them to put the meter on (as they should).

If they won't...just get out and get another taxi.

They'll only fleece you if you allow them to.

Put bags on back seat so you can retrieve them yourself.

Mate, if your in Manila for 2 nights why would you want to stay near airport. Stay in Makati or Ermitta. You want to try and enjoy yourself right?
I used to stay in Makati on my wifes request buti prefer Ermitta/Malate. I always stay at lotus Garden hotel, rooms for about £35a night. they have a nice new wing and the rooms are lovely. plus you have all the bars and entertainment nearby. And a mall very close. Staying near the airport is boring. It will only take half hour anyway. just give yourself time.

We stayed at the Remington 2 nights ago (as we had a 5:30am flight to Bohol). It is attached to the new resortsworld shopping/casino right opposite T3. It was fine - around 4,000 pesos per night. Just ask for a quiet room and you'll get one in the centre of the hotel - Tripadvisor has lots of complaints from naive travellers!
