if they are old , at least they are tried and tested:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I don't fancy the idea of flying in one of these new carbon body things :icon_lol:

Travelled KLM Heathrow-Amsterdam-Manila the first time I went to Philippines. Very good service but not quite as good as Cathay Pacific IMO

First looong journey for me, from Manila-Amsterdam,

Defo will fly again through them.

Used KLM once, very disappointed, tried quite a number of airlines going to Philippines and still prefer Qatar Airways!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Have flown KLM from Edinburgh to Manila on a number of occasions and never had any problems. The old route used to go direct from Amsterdam to Manila which was very convenient.

Cathay for me everytime :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Same here :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I had no problems using KLM when they flew Manchester-Amsterdam-Manila but last time used Cathay Pacific Heathrow-Hong Kong-Manila.

I believe Cathay Pacific flights take the least time ( 14 hours 30 minutes out, 16 hours 10 minutes back, with 1 hour stopover in Hong Kong ). This means they're not the cheapest. KLM times are 17 hours 10 minutes out and 19 hours 45 minutes back ( or longer ) from Heathrow, but of course they're cheaper. Longer flights do seem to be less expensive but I'm not an expert - and wherever I fly from involves a train journey of several hours to reach the airport !

I fly everytime with KLM.It is abit longer not they have a stop over but thats because Philippine government upped the tax for europeanairlines and so now they stop and change staff so on paper the flight is now originating from and asian country andso therefore paying less tax.

Anyways if you have a chanceand have the funds try checking in as soon as possible on the 30 hour mark on KLM website and you could be able to upgrade to business class for and extra 200 odd pounds.

If not at least get the economy comfort seats from row 9 and you might fair a bit better. They uses the 777/200 and 777/300 on that route and the 300 being a much bigger and better plane
