Since 2010 Philippine carriers have been banned form travelling to the EU & USA due to safety concerns. The bans have now been lifted by the ICAO so flights to the EU & USA can now resume :xxgrinning--00xx3: http://business.inquirer.net/110647/ph-aviation-sector-gets-big-boost

That's got to be good news. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I flew with PAL several times (Gatwick ?) in the old days.

They were also good for Hong Kong to Manila.

I still wouldn't trust them, although they do have a good safety record.

The wife hates PAL for some reason so we haven't flown with them for years.
Always remember the Filipino's clapping when we landed in Manila.

More often than not we would use PAL from Japan to Phils.
Never had any major complaints and yes I remember people clapped upon landing.

I remember the first time to fly with Pal to Manila, I just couldn't believe the amount of baggage and boxes getting checked in.
Even more with the carry-on stuff. Used to cheese me off sometimes the amount of stuff people would take in the cabin and then expect me to give up some space. No way. Ha ha

If PAL would consider from UK or Europe then we would definitely give them a chance.

I knew they were banned in some way, but i'm sure they still had San Francisco to Manila and also Vancouver to Manila. I cant see them flying into the UK anytime soon, but would be good.
If they got a dreamliner 787, it could fly direct.
