at last we are having a container delivered to our work place, its a big 40 ft one so i will be able to look at it close up with measurements and to see if its a plane for our future in the phils, yes many will say its too hot or no chance but remember it was not long ago when they said if you went too far you would fall of the planet, anyway i cant wait to get up and close to it and just make my drawings

Spent many a few hours kipping in one when on nightshift in Hong Kong and our equipment had broken...on the floor, all wrapped up in newspapers.

Mostly South China Morning Post...rather conservative. :cwm3:

Actually it was blinkin freezing because it was the coldest weather they'd ever had there....down to 7C one night.
I had to cuddle up to my team of 6 Pakistani labourers to keep warm. :freezin: (Me being the 'Shaft-bottom tunnel Ganger').

Not too hot at all if insulated properly, two 40ft's would be fine in Philippines Steve!!

thats just my thoughts too Michael, and you can get these container refrigerators already full of insulated material

Lived in a Nippa house for one month only, breeze was nice but the mossies were terrible:NoNo::NoNo:

Always a tough choice:

Sealed up house with expensive aircon and few mozzys.

'Regular' bungalow type house with window and door screens, cheap fans and few mozzys..

Breathable 'native' type house with cheap fans, mosquito nets to sleep under and arms and legs covered in the evening.

The longer you're there the less you get bitten...strange but that's what I've found (longest stay 3 years).

I only used repellent when out in town in the evenings wearing shorts and T-shirt.

must agree, a nippa hut with a flee net at night does sound wonderful

You'd need to be close to family out there with a Nipa type place though, because of course 'home security' would be ZERO.

might be a bit difficult to make a plane out of a 40ft container
