I've been there loads of times over Xmas.

Just costs a bit more.

I worked out it was still cheaper than buying presents and expensive drinks here. :D

Hi there, welcome here.
No such thing as a free lunch. You'll need to do some daily checking.
Yes, December can be above average. But sometime a bargain pops up
For me I'm happy to pay extra just for the extra pleasure I experience from a Philippine Christmas. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Done this several times too.

Note that you can often get some surprisingly cheap flights if you travel between Christmas and New Year.

I booked about 2 mnths ago via Crystal Travel.
10 Dec - 31 Dec (Malaysian Air) for £725
which includes a 3 day lay-over in KL.

They're quoting a very cheap £602 today
http://www.crystaltravel.co.uk
with Air China 11 Dec - 31 Dec
Not a great airline, and a 6 hour wait in Beijing on the way out.
But the cheap price might offset this.
The return flight is ok though, and back in time to get down the local for New Year's Eve !
