Hi Guys,
i have some friends who i would like to help who are from the Philippines in getting work here in the UK.How do filipinos get a job here? What is the process? Someone told me that they can do a care giver course in the Philippines but it is expensive. If it is expensive how can they afford it? By the way my future wife is from Ozamiz City, is anyone on this site come from that area?

Most all nurses who come to the UK have to do a certain amunt of time as care givers, just to prove they are able to do the basic job. My wife works as a care giver, but she was already here before she started the job and had permanent residence, so no work permit was needed.

Here's a web site for the NHS recruiting Filipino nurses, unfortunately it looks like they have no vacancies, or are too busy at the moment. If and when they are taking applications again it might be a way to get around all the bribery and b/s that goes on with overseas recruitment agencies in the Philippines.

This is another company who could give info about working over here. I assume it'll cost, but probably no more than the bribes you'd pay in the Philippines, and probably more reliable.
