Anyone seen any reasonable flights to the Philippines recently?
They seem to be between £700 and £800 in my search :NoNo:

Have you tried Skyscanner (http://www.skyscanner.net/) or Kayak (http://www.kayak.co.uk/flights?ispredir=true)

There's also Yapta (http://www.yapta.com) which will track flight prices and alert you when to buy.

Alternatively take a look in the Philippine free newspapers such as Philippine Planet. Quite a few travel agents offer some good deals (Crystal Travel for example)
You can often secure an increased baggage allowance.

In general though flight prices have increased somewhat.

all depends on when you are flying, and from where, best bet is skyscanner like terpe says, put in the month and see what comes up,

Thanks stevewool.
The irratating thing is that you get quoted something like £500 on the first web page of many online sites then it jumps to around £800 when you put your dates in :NoNo:

Tried them all steve myself from LHR manchester Birmingham all are exspensive now probably to do with the rise in airport tax as the seat price was £185 and the rest of the cost was taxes of around £500 for tax alone.

There should be something like the trade descriptions act to ban them from doing this :NoNo:

Been looking myself for mid July. £794 was the cheapest I got last week but they seem to have crept up another £100 this week. I'll message you if I see any bargains as I check on a regular basis. Good luck :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I have been in touch with both companys just this week for the 6 weeks holiday i was quoted around £850 as cheapest.

This is what causes us problems having a child at school you can only go during school holidays plus the goverment (conservatives) have made us pay more air tax the further away you fly the more you pay.

I did a bit of research over the weekend using Skyscanner & PIC. I found that flights between Heathrow & Manila from July 9th to August 20th were all over £700 for journeys with stopovers of six hours or less. Both departure dates were on the same day going and returning and were over a three week period.

Flights from August 21st did come down a bit though.

Air China was the cheapest @ £560 leaving Tues Aug 21st (5hr & 2hr stopover)

Cathay Pacific had flights @ £592 leaving Wed Aug 22nd (1hr & 2hr stopover)

Kuwait Airways had flights @ £580 leaving Sat Aug 25th (5hr & 6hr stopover)

But between Aug 21st-28th there were only 11 flights available for under £650

The early part of September didn't have a great deal of flights either for less than £650 although there seemed to be quite a few priced at £666 going with Cathay.

I also went onto Etihads website and it seems if you book around 6 months ahead the price is around £550.

I think flights for £500 or less are more or less extinct and going by what I researched, the best time to book is at least two to three months in advance.

I've only looked at the first few months of 2013 because that's when I'm going and Etihad are doing flights for around £550 and I'm sure I've seen lower priced flights going with Kuwait.

What month are you travelling?

I have also been looking at January and February, jamieXXXmaria

Me too, but I was looking more at end of Jan and beginning of Feb.

I think the first few weeks of the new year could be higher prices because of people returning after the holiday period. I managed to get a flight with Saudi going on Jan 15th 2011 for £444 booked in the November but I very much doubt I could get near that price, two years on. :NoNo:
