Blessed with another day's fine weather, Mrs Lastlid and I took a look around Manchester, starting with a look at Salford Quays, where we saw some of the Northern Sport Relief Mile, not realising that her Majesty the Queen was starting the race, just a few hundred meters from where we were standing.

We later went into Manchester by tram, and had a look at the new look Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester Eye, Manchester Cathedral and the oldest pub in the world. The pub is right next door to the cathedral - handy!

Great weather and a great oppurtunity for 50 more photos for Mrs Lastlid to stuff into her Facebook account.

The oldest (licensed) pub in York, dating back to 1622 has been my local for over 40 years. :)
