Would this mean if I wanted to take Rina to Spain she would not need a visa? She has a BRP valid til Feb 2014.

I've just booked an appointment with VFS - earliest was 11th April!
Want to take her to the Canaries for a week of sun and relaxation...

Cheers

If she's here under FLR at present, that is NOT recognised as a UK residence permit.

Additionally, this effectively applies to EU citizens now based in the UK eg a German guy with a non-EU wife.

It doesn't mean UK citizens with a non-EU wife.

Crazy I know ..... but ......

You're correct, Marc ...:Britain: is excluded ... even when the non-EU partner already HAS Permanent Residence [ILR].

Crazy I know ..... but ......

Thats just plain stupid isn't it!

... RIGHT on both counts!! :anerikke: It seems the reason this anomaly is down to the British Government's refusal to be signatories to the Schengen Agreement allowing passport-free movement between something like 26 other European countries.
