Not in Sing Arthur - they have proper, traditional jails there - that's why they are the emptiest in the world. If any con steps out of line Johnny Ghurka Guard is there with his night stick to reacquaint them with the rules :D

Yes, interesting how many former colonies decide to retain laws and standards we USED to have.

Common sense it's how it should be - the crimewave here would evaporate overnight if we had the justice/penal system of the 1930's - hard labour, hanging, beating, bread & water etc the scum need to fear going to prison

:gp: ... but - unlike US - THEY don't have to kow~tow to that scourge known as the European Court of Human Rights !!!

Nor would we if Parliament had the balls to carry out the wishes of the silent majority and told the EU where they could stick their Court of Human Rights. Can you imagine the Singaporeans allowing this piece of filth to walk their streets ? :-

One of the world’s most dangerous fanatics will be freed from jail within days – with a judge’s permission to do the school run.

Notorious hate preacher Abu Qatada is considered such a threat that he will be permitted to roam the streets for only two hours a day.

But Mr Justice Mitting ruled that he must be allowed to walk his youngest child to school under his bail conditions.

It raises the prospect of parents at the school gates bumping into the radical cleric, who was known as Osama Bin Laden’s ambassador in Europe.

Thats why I advocate putting ones head above the parapet lobbying local & national politicos, writing to the papers, winding people up posting on loose talk, just generally trying to open folks eyes up and spread the word in the hope it will sew the seeds and start a groundswell of change for the better
