So you have FLR, well you will need to apply for a schgen visa. put schgen visa into Search and you should find info on what you need to apply.

You can apply to the Spainish embassy or to one of the other Embassies of the nations in the schgen area. But you need to either use the country where you get the visa as first point of entry or main part of your holiday in the six months. As it may affect your application if you need to renew your visa.

Basically if your married to a brit passport holder. You just need both your passports, marriage cert and details of when you wanna go. But worth taking proof of travel insurance for the trip or length of time you want visa and if you have a job take your payslips. Most never get asked for them and they shouldn't ask for them but you never know in the weird world of visa applications.

Its not to complicated but you need to start now as getting a slot to apply is sometimes more complicated than getting the visa.

Good luck and hope you have a great holiday in Spain:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Andypaul is correct. Elsa applied for her Schengen Visa at the Spanish Embassy in Manchester, and it was very easy, straightforward. If you are married to a British passport holder, the visa will be free, you just need to call the Embassy and leave your name and address, they will then send an application form, send that back, they will then ask you to come to the Embassy to submit that application form with the required documentation, and then a few weeks later, visa will be stamped on your passport and returned to you by post. If you can try to get a "multiple entry" Schengen Visa, these are valid for 6 months, and it saves the hassle of applying again in a short period of time.

With the FLR is it possible to travel anywhere? Providing you have a visa if required or back to the Philippines for example.

Yes, you are free to travel outside the UK on FLR if you obtain the appropriate visa. And you can certainly go to the Philippines! - as we did recently.

Its possible to travel outside of the UK, but worth making sure how much time you spend out of the UK. Im sure you are unlikely to spend 90 odd days outside of the UK unless you won the lottery recently. But its worth keeping note of the time you spend out of the UK in case before ILR their is a family emegency which requires an extended time out of the UK is required for example.
