The news was received by cheers at the HQ

I do believe Richard Branson will make a good fresh input to UK banking. It's not a major player but not a minnow either.

There's plenty of questions about the gov't timing of this.
Personally, I wonder if the Chancellor George Osborne and the gov't know or think they know something about UK economy that says don't wait things won't get better.
'A bird in the hand....' comes to mind.

I'm made up with Virgin getting it as Branson tends not to join 'all boys together clubs' as he proved by screwing BA a few times :icon_lol:

Don't believe that for a minute. RBS are providing funding most of Virgin's products. His henchwoman in VM used to call on my business in the past when she was a manager at Natwest/RBS, they're all in it together, believe me:rolleyes:

Not happy - I stuck money in it when they got bailed out by the Govt 'cos of the unlimited guarantee given then since watered down to the £89k or whatever the limit is. Virgin are spivs

I'd like to hope that British politics and business is too transparent for that, but anything is possible:rolleyes:

I want to know what my MP is doing. Last i saw was he was calling young Murdoch a mafia boss. God knows what that has to do with his constituancy?:doh. I know while he is away another mosque was given the go ahead.

I wonder when the £400 million loss of taxpayers' money is going to start being deducted from the last governments' wages ? :Erm:

Blair can start by chipping in a few mil from the ill-gotten gains of his international clown act.

THEY were in charge of this screwup.

Andy you should realise he's a very, very busy man down in Westminster keeping his snout in the trough and trousering his expenses.

No surprise to hear about the Mosque the local planners will be keeping the ethnic majority happy - different story if it was a chapel or suchlike

I think Branson made an offer when Northern Crock were first found to be acting irresponsibly but the socialists turned it down for fear of upsetting the local voters
