I've watched it so many times and still makes me smile. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

To be honest, I haven't been on a jeepney for a couple of years.

I looked into importing one into the UK but then decided it would be to much hassle, would be amazing though

i loved the jeepney, mind you i'm a big bloke so i was almost bent double when i got on to ride them. i like the art work that goes into painting a lot of them, and some even went as far as having a good sound system in there. i even got used to the stares lol:icon_lol:

can you imagine the various health and safety, environmental and other rules /laws we have here that you would break operating the average jeepney here..arrrrgggg just imagine writing the RAMS (risk asessements and methods statements) for jumping on on and off of one, the persoanl accident lawyers would have a field day, the vehicle inspectorate would die of shock at the road worthiness, the police would issue more tickets to one vehicle than ever thought possible, ohhh but the public would love them...especially the prices hehehehehehe

Very true. :icon_lol:

But wouldn't it be great to have a similar flag-down hop-on hop-off cheap service like that here.

I'm sure it would help reduce the number of car journeys.

Of course govts here haven't got the imagination.

yes it would be great, but shhhhhhhhhhh don`t tell Les Taxi, hehehehehehe, remember the green and the red minibuses in Hong Kong, you got to be nuts to ride a red one lol ... but we did once negotiate with a parked up one at Shek O beach/village to take 15 of us all the way back to Wan Chai, when we got off we were kissing the pavement in thanks that we got there alive hehehehehe

Aye, but at least the 'big' buses were cheap, reliable and efficient, unlike the shoddy bloody rip-off 'service' in this backward country. :NoNo:

that is very true, unless you lived up in the New territories there was no need for a car and in any event at my builidng parking onsite was £300 per month and parking at work was £350 per month so more than the cost of a driver/housekeeper just to stand still:doh:doh they really want to keep cars off the road so buses are cheap as is the MTR and the taxi and even the old trams. Consequently to have a car you needed to be loaded and so all the cars were Mercs, BMW, LEXUS , Porsche and Italian bird magnets

True.

All those flashy cars made you feel poor, but at least you could get where you wanted to be without much hassle, and no car to worry about. :)
