Hi, i am getting married in july but am a little confused about the cni. It says on the uk visa website you have to wait 22 days to obtain a cni. If i take a cni from the uk, is the 22 day wait for a cni suitable for the philippines, or is the cni from the uk acceptible. My visit in july is for 1 month and need to know how long i have to be in the philippines b4 i can get married. Please help!!

You apply for the brit version, i suggest you book an appoinment soon as there can be quite a wait for an interview and then you gotta wait for it to be issued.
You then take the cert to the brit embassy and they exchange for a cert suitable for a pill wedding. Get to the embassy early do remeber your passport and things may have changed but if your wife to be wants to wait with you in the embassy make sure she brings some id.
My Wife when we went was told she could go in if she had ID but sods law she had none on her at the time so had to go shopping with her aunt in glorietta (she is still having counselling to get over this:rolleyes: ).

Once you go up in the lift and hand in your mobile phone and get the ticket (dont forget to pick it up on the way out) you wait in a 1980s style doctors waiting room and remeber to take a number and then you wait for your number to be called out. also take the right change the woman almost had a fit finding the change runing all over the office for mine.
Also make sure on the way out you dont accidently get off on the wrong floor like i did and get lost for a few mintues way to many security guards with guns for that:omg:
For me the whole experience took 1 and a half hours or so.

If u obtained a CNI from UK, u can swap it for the Local CNI here on the day u arrive. They'll give u back the CNI right away. Once the CNI has been issued, u can now apply for a Marriage License and after 12 days, u can get married. :D

Here's some of the threads:
