PC Air, a new Thai airline that has just been started up has recruited 20 air hostesses with 3 of them ladyboys. They will wear special 3rd sex gold badges just in case the passengers get carried away after sipping too many G&Ts.:yikes:

A few years ago I was in Amsterdam with some friends. We decided to go to a Thai restaurant for a meal. All of the waitresses were ladyboys, still the food was good and the staff were friendly enough, no problem for me, I don't have a problem with gays, treat people with respect and they'll show it back to you

Agree with all the above, it just sounds strange that according to the Telegraph report the airline has chosen to describe them as a third sex:Erm:

I think it's okay. we live in a new era, no time for discrimination, just acceptance :)

Sick.

I'm tired of having 'acceptance' foisted upon me. :NoNo:

Its not going to be made compulsory to use the airline so you can avoid being foisted:icon_lol: but it a common and, it would seem, acceptable part of the Thai experience.
Just treat the flying experience as entertainment as it seems to attract the same cross section of attention seekers.:)

I am not sure what gender or sexual prefrerence has to do with competence to work on an airplane?

I think it is sad that this is considered newsworthy.

If they're doing the job far better than straight steward/stewardess, then there's nothing wrong in employing these lady boys or even "tomboys" if there's any.. It's how they do the job and not how they look or what's their sexuality. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
