we have a friend in phillipines and we want her to come to ireland and live /work with us.first we applied for student visa, were she would study a course, and live with us,and see if she liked ireland, but it was refused.then she applied for a package holiday to come here, again, visa was refused.
why is it so hard for her to travel?is LOVE not a good reason to allow ppl to travel now?this girl is like our sister.my brother will marry her now,we hope that way she can come here.it seems the laws in place to discourage marriage of convience, but a marriage of convience is our last option?does anyone know an agency or specialist who can help us??we live in n.ireland, unfortunately thats in the uk,and we have to travel to croydon in london to visit the home office :(
any help appreciated.

My fiancee applied for a visitors visa last july and was refused :bigcry: , we had known each other through the internet for 6/7 months at that time , we just wanted to spend some time and get to know each other . I gave up the job and went over there for a month, got on very well together. She is soon going to apply for fiancee visa , it lasts 6 months but we must get married in that time otherwise she has to go back to PI. The fiancee or spouse visa is the most popular application, if I was not working full time I think we would get married in PI. :xxgrinning--00xx3: This is a good site with plenty of valueable info from peoples past and present experiences.Best of luck

hi mike.can i ask,did she just apply for sightseeing visa or did you offer to sponser her while she stayed here?is it important for you both to marry in the uk,or is it still effective if you marry in the phillipines?
thanks,gary

Chance of tourist visa - <5%
Chance of screwing the immigration - <1% ......especially when you announce it on a public forum the immigration authorities read.

You have also proved to the immigration by applying for two different visas to get the same person in, so she is probably black marked for an in depth review if they get a different visa app again, which will probably result in a refusal.

If we all 'smuggled' our overseas friends in, we'd have even less room in the country than we have now.

Do it the legal way, find her a nice guy from the UK, it'll also make her happier...and the guy :) . We've made a few happy this way, and it means the guy pays the expenses not you!!!

Start with the free dating sites http://www.win2winracing.com/zdating/ , www.match.com (http://www.match.com) is OK as well.

She applied for visitors visa , "sightseeing"- the only sight she wanted to see was of me . Admin is giving you good advise , do it all above board and legally . My advise ---- do not get married or arrange a marriage for the wrong reasons.:)
