Ad space on the BBC website

I've noticed since I've been out of the UK there's adverts splashed all over the BBC website. Is this just appearing to visitors in foreign countries, or you guys seeing it in UK too?

Foreign countries only .... it's so the BBC can say, we are not giving it away free to the rest of the world.....:doh

If the money they made from the ads was so good, why do we have to pay? So we in the UK subsidise it for the rest of the world to have it free :cwm23:

I guessed as much. They're not exactly tiny ads either some of them.
