Hi guys, Got my spouse visa today!!!! I can't believe it, I thought it will take 3months! Now, I want to ask anyone if how long can I stay here in the Phil. it says valid from 16/09/09 valid until 16/12/11. I am trying to searched from previous thread here but I couldn't find it.

all spouse visas come with 2 years and 3 months,2 years for you to get ilr and 3 months extra.

how soon are you planning on coming here?

scottishbride

how soon are you planning on coming here?

First week of December, I need to wait for my hubby he's getting off December? Or I need to leave soon?

bornatbirth
18th September 2009, 10:38
you need to be here for 2 years to get the ilr,so you need to get in the uk before 16/12/09 so the first week of december should be fine :xxgrinning--00xx3:

sometimes i think they give them out to quick,we make plans for the 3 month wait and when we get the visa approved i dont think we are ready for them :Erm:

I know... My husband just left a week ago, :bigcry:he thought that my visa application will take 3 months or more, If he knew it will be earlier he shouldn't left. but on the other hand, I am glad I got it. Thanks for the advice!! :)

:gp: That's certainly been very true recently ... it's like going from the "sublime to the ridiculous" [or perhaps I should re-phrase my statement to read the other way round!]

... and now that they seem to have sorted out the visa section at the Embassy in Manila
..... is there a chance of speeding up the FLR & ILR process at the UKBA ???

its not a typo, your visa is valid from 16/9/09 until 16/12/11 so take off 2 years and your left with 16/12/09,so you have 3 months to pack and panic :icon_lol:

Congratulations. :xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3:
Louella & Iain.

As long as you arrive in the UK before 16/12/2009 you will have been in the UK for 2 years by the time your visa runs out and it's time to apply for ILR. This is important because this is one of the conditions you must meet before you can apply for ILR.

Thank you! :) Hi Iain, You think I won't have any problem obtaining ILR in future? My hubby and I might leave phils. around 10/12/09. Hope this is ok?

Know the 'East Neuk' well  ... there's a very popular Fish n' Chip shop in "Ainster" [as it's pronounced] I remember. Maybe not WORLD-famous ... but still ...

... and :Erm: for many years, back in the late '50s and part of the 1960s, I camped at Elie & Earlsferry with the Perth Battalion of the Boys' Brigade. Happy days!!
