http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081101001351AAmxO84

Website looks very amauterish and full of errors:

http://davugoil.com/index-2.html

Looks like a real company but I've seen this type of scamming before, where an existing business is used...a good guide to check if its a scam or not here:

http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com/bewarejobscams.php

Scammers use a hotmail or yahoo address - but in this case, they are using Hotmail to actually host their email (davugoil.com), thats a good sign they are scammers. What international company will use free email hosting services provided by Hotmail? The website is registered to an individual in USA - again this is a red flag.

I'm guessing its a scam Kimmi.

and most if not all companies will not offer a job to someone they have not interviewed. :Erm:

and depending on what the job is, you may well need a work permit, something they cannot guarantee to get you, so how can they offer anyone a job :Erm:

and the 070319 prefix number is 55p per min to call :yikes:

looks like a phone call scam :Help1:

Please dont send any info or money

I see they have a posh looking website but the address is for lincoln which is up norf and the telephone numbers Joe has already mentioned but i will add some more info

44-70....... phone numbers are called "follow me" numbers. They can be redirected to another phone anywhere in the world. As there is no way to know where these are answered, there are used by 419 scammers.
Do not reply to any e-mail you receive which gives one of these numbers as a contact.

Its a con

Have a read of this

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=LN1+5DQ&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&resnum=1&ct=title

Heres where the post code says it is.
No way is there any exception for a everyday company.

If you can find the place in london i will personally go there for you

Even the British secret services use London post codes ie sw1,n1,e1,w1,nw1 etc but never LN.

I can send you an email saying its from any address. Ask your friend to keep the Emaill so you can ask the home office they may well be interested in who is claiming to be them.

A legit company will never ask you to send money through Western Union.

Very true so vital to google and check on google maps which is on the whole very precise but does make the odd mistake like tell me the radisson mayfair hotel was in a post office depot where the "Artist" banksy has some of his grafiti.

One point do bear in mind not all scammers are Nigerian and not all nigerians are scammers.
Just as all brits are football hooligans or phills avid shoe collectors. Although a lot of phills i know do seem to be very keen to collect them if at all possible:D

Yeah its a catch 22 do you let the scammers improve with your info but then let people be mugged off or try and help out a potential victim?

The scammers will improve via darwinian methods anyway so better to stop as many people being scamed as possible imo.

There's a lot of information about job vacancy scams on this website: http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com/bewarejobscams.php. The company you're asking about is listed as a well known scam.

I hope this is helpful.
