Hi Just a question regarding cash taking into the philippines. I will traveling to Heathrow airport next year, Is it allowed to bring £2000 pounds notes without checking my bag? Thank you

Just to clarify are you flying from Heathrow to the Philippines or from the Philippines into Heathrow?

You're allowed to take up to the equivalent of 10,000 Euros out of the UK without having to declare it and up to the equivalent of $10,000 into the Philippines without declaration, so you should be fine

Maybe they've changed it recently Arthur, the government link below states 10,000 Euros

... not that I'm aware of, Simon.
.................................................... 's certainly what the link states ... . And 10,000 Euro doesn't equate to £10,000 sterling. Not yet, anyway!
But I'm surprised the British Government site has based its calculation on the European unit of currency - as opposed to our own - it strikes me as ANOTHER indication of how much we're dominated by the EU, sadly.

Which is strange, as anyone who understands the currency markets knows that the GBP is regarded as much safer and far superior to the EUR.

I carried around £8000 last december in my pockets, put my jacket through the X-RAY at Heathrow no problems.
Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.
