Interesting stuff there.
I've been banging on about the care sector for what seems like years.
The local councils are a major source for care funding. The linked article is quite right in that the funding, and regulations and the care working restrictions have been lacking.
Many community care workers are put under far too much time pressure to satisfy even basic 'care'
The councils allocate care visits in minutes.
It's impossible to give a bath to most in a 15 minute slot.
It's senseless allocating 5-10 mins for helping folks get dressed or preparing hot meals.
Most community care workers have a conscience and take as much extra time as they dare to make sure their clients are comfortable and safe.
Extra time they do not get paid for. Often taking from their travel time with not so good impacts.
Again, at the risk of being overly repetitive, I say most of the elderly would have much better lives and care in prison.

Disgraceful that an estimated 50,000 foreign national births classed as NHS tourism, were paid out of the public purse last year, at a cost of £192 million... while our own old folk (most of whom went through WW2) are being neglected.
Our country is still being run by naive fools.
