April Fools' Day
Today ... all around the world - but particularly in western nations - April 1 is celebrated as April Fools' Day ... a day when people get up to all sorts of pranks by playing [usually] harmless tricks and/or practical s on friends, neighbours, teachers and so on.
Here in the UK, the custom is sometimes known as 'All Fools Day' because ... traditionally, the "foolishness" was supposed to end at midday - and anyone who attempted to carry on the nonsense beyond that time was called an 'April Fool'.
But the date has an added significance for ME ... in that it is the birthday of the sole surviving member of the older generation of my family ... my Aunt Jean (my Mum's sister) ... a sprightly nonagenarian who, having been born on April 1, 1918 - while the Great War was still raging in Europe (I think!) - is 93 years "young" today.

Congratulations to your Aunt Jean, who is obviously no fool - let's hope she lives to 100 ... but who will send her card then ... Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, or King William ?

Well ... ... we're back round to 'All Fools Day' again. But I kid you not when I tell you my dear old Aunt Jean - whom I mentioned above - is now 97!
Unlike the smiley, I've used, however ... , she still doesn't need a walking stick.
Hopefully it's in the genes!
