    5-Year old child missing....

Five-year-old girl missing after father left her unconscious in jungle as punishment.

A five-year-old girl is missing after her father knocked her out and left her in the jungle as punishment for embarrassing him in front of his drinking buddies.

Felipe Eranzo admitted hitting her on the back of the neck before leaving her unconscious at Famy, about 60 miles east of Manila, to teach her a lesson on Wednesday.

But when he returned to the same spot, the five-year-old girl, Mariafe, was nowhere to be seen and he called police for help, sparking a major search operation.

Eranzo told police that he had been drinking before he struck his daughter and that he had taken the youngster to the forest.

Officers then arrested him and he will face child abuse charges, GMA News reports.

Footage shows Eranzo being led around a forest in handcuffs accompanied by officials. Search and rescue operations are continuing.

Last year, a.seven-year-old Japanese boy was found alive nearly a week after his parents left him in a forest, known to be inhabited by bears, as punishment for misbehaving.

Yamato Tanooka was found by soldiers hungry but unharmed in a hut on a military base having walked several miles from the spot where he was abandoned.

Yamato’s parents were severely criticised by the Japanese public for forcing him out of their car on a mountain road to teach him a lesson for throwing stones at cars and people.

After the emotional discovery, the contrite father appeared before the media outside the hospital where the boy was taken for a check-up, bowing as he apologised for his ‘excessive’ actions.

In June, we reported how a Korean hiker who got lost in Mountain Province for 11 days was found alive.

Choi Sungkyu, aged 56, went missing near Barlig town on June 9 and reportedly survived by drinking spring water and his own urine.

    Disgraceful.

Hopefully the child will be unharmed and the idiot drunk father locked up away from the Ginebra for a while.

He lost face in front of his drunk mates so knocked his kid unconscious and dumped her in the jungle. He should be horsewhipped and his eyes gouged out. She is missing, there's a chance he actually killed her and hid the child's body, made the story up about dumping her to cover his tracks

Fingers crossed she will be found. What's the most dangerous animals (apart from her father) in that part of the Phils? Snakes?

There're no large predators in the PI except python, scabby dogs and, as you rightly said, her "father" for want of a better word. There're pigs, they would consume a corpse.

There's crocodiles but they're in Mindanao and Mindoro and way up north. Pigs wouldn't actually kill a child would they? Boars probably would. They're nasty. Spiders and scorpions might be a hazard too.

Crocs aren't land based. Pigs would kill a child, she is tiny from the look of the pics. I think the father has some explaining to do, she is probably under some brush or scrub gassing up in the heat.

That's true about crocs. They do bask on land near edges of rivers though and they can be found in Pinas like I said but not in that area.

Pigs are actually omnivores which I wasn't totally aware of so that statement could ring true.

Crocs aren't in real number in Pinas except down in Mindanao, and she was supposedly breathing when she was dumped. If they do come onto land it's the smell of rotten meat that brings them in. You bait a croc trap with rotten pig because the smell is like heaven to them. I know pigs are omnivores, but I still think she is buried under some rotten vegetation somewhere. Spur of the moment killings are usually disorganised, and her dad isn't the greatest thinker if he killed a small child because she embarrassed him
