    Cheeky or not?

Picture the scene. A couple you know are getting married but can't afford the expense of the wedding so they devise a scheme to charge their guests £150.

Is this cheeky or reasonable? Would you attend?

    The story is here.

Perhaps at first glance I'd have thought: " ... NOT on yer nelly, pal!"

But, having since seen what the package contains - 3 nights' ALL INCLUSIVE accommodation for guests (+ use of the spa) for £150, 's a bloomin' good deal for wedding guests at a top class venue - I would've quickly changed my tune.

    "Dirt cheap
    "
at the price, and a GREAT ! Especially considering the amount I paid for my daughter's wedding reception alone, more than 21 years ago.

Perhaps the tradition of the bride's parents coughing up is going to be a thing of the past. I can see this idea catching on obviously, but would all guests be willing to pay? I'm not so sure.

Thanks for rep Arthur, but cannae return any just yet.

Pity they don't operate the same system for 1st/7th birthday parties in the Philippines. So much peer pressure for the parents to 'perform'.

Are 7th birthday's some kind of milestone over there? Apparently if a childs parents split up, when they reach the age of 7 they're allowed to choose which parent they live with. Kind of young to make a decision like that, but there you go.

Have a funny feeling it's all to do with coinciding with Christening and Confirmation in the Catholic Church
