London named Museum Capital of the World

I love a nice walk around a museum and I have been to a few too, but London has been named as the museum Capital of the World.
The National History Museum in London is amazing and I have spent a good few hours walking around there.

I am often in London's museums, all free. I went to the Canadian Museum of Natural History in Ottawa and they charge. We are really lucky in this country, though I was in Paris last month, and they run us a close second, as their museums are incredible for artwork and suchlike.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

A long time ago we were in New York Natural History Museum and while walking around we came to the Dinosaur, a very large one where you had to climb some stairs and you could get a better view.
Anyway my ex was standing there looking at this full size skeleton and I knew there was something on her mind. I walked back and asked what's up? And at that time, a chap who worked there came along too. He had a sign on his chest 'Ask me a question', so my ex did.
"When you found this skeleton was it the whole lot all in the same space?" "Yes it was", said the helper. "So what are all these things in between the bones then?"
, I looked at her then I looked at him and he looked at me, and I just laughed. She was on about the bars and wires that were holding it all together.

Well I suppose it's somewhere to hide from terrorists.

Tragic what has happened to that wonderful city during the past few decades.

I loved it when I moved there from York with my mate, when we were 18.

King's Road, Chelsea just round the corner from us... which had taken over from Carnaby Street.
Union Jacks everywhere... like a blinkin Austin Powers set, it was.

Yet we could park my works Bedford Dormobile right outside our flat in Cranley gardens, South Kensington. Not even a parking meter.

5p between stops on the underground.

£3.50 day return on the train back up to York.

Free to go in the museums, which were mostly within walking distance (especially the Natural History one, the Victoria and Albert, and the Science museum, all in a row together), or a quick wander through Harrods if it was raining.

Delicious fried breast of chicken with chips, takeway from an Italian place... 30p.

Of course if I couldn't get hold of the company van for the weekend, I could just stick my thumb out and (fairly) easily hitch a lift anywhere... for nowt.
