Thumbs up The Best Choice to live in the Philippines is Cebu City

Me and my husband are thinking to live in the Philippines for 4 months and then 2 months maybe in Vietnam and then live in States for 6 months.
Were thinking to live in Cebu City, Its because I think only Cebu City has Everything. Like Fun, Sports bar, safe and very close to airport. Manila is very crowded and very not safe.

Vietnam is nice, maybe pop into Cambodia, laos and Thailand as well if you have spare time My sis is in Cebu at the moment, she isn't impressed with the city

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

Yes,vietnam is fantastic, the only reason my sis isn't so keen on Cebu is she used to live in Thailand, she thinks Thailand is a lot cleaner and easier for tourists to get around, she flies back to London next week,i will also be back then so I can get her views, enjoy your travels

Im not so keen on Cebu City, but it has its good & not so good areas like everywhere, for me Lahug is the best place to maybe live in Cebu, its got a thriving multi cultural society there, and is easy to get around, with lots of different eateries to try, especially around the IT Park area, if anyone is around Cebu i suggest you check it out..

Manila is dirty compared to Cebu. Feel safe driving alone around cebu and the provinces even in rush hours, which are most of the daylights hours.
If you are comparing Vietnam to Manila then i can see the philippines coming second. If i could, i would live in the Cebu area all the time and the Philippines would be second to none in my opinion.

Cebu is safer now than it was before. I always use Grab (same as UBER) for taxi/car to take me around the city. Have a wonderful stay here in Cebu.

This may not be popular in this thread but I only go to Cebu when it cannot possibly be avoided..Unfortunately,I had to go there last month to immigration...
To each his own I guess but frankly,I hate the damned place...
I`d rather live in Manchester on a cold rainy day when everyday is Wednesday.

Out of the cities I've been to, Bacolod, Puerto Princesa and Dumaguete would rank the highest. Cebu's OK though. Worst has to be Angeles and San Fernando in Pampanga followed by Manila.

This day and age where you may go for a holiday for a few weeks to a few months is so different to calling it home or living day to day for a year or so.
The world is getting smaller and there are many places that you are free to travel and stay, but where is that place you would like to call home?

...............The quest continues, and changes with time. I met an 85'ish year old American in March, chatted to him in Bangkok, he has lived in Pattaya for over 20 years, he told me he didn't even like the place

I think I put on here before. He stays there because he has "Plenty of sex" I never asked him to expand upon that sometimes it's best not to know.

Well if it's what he likes, who are we to say?
85ish and still having sex, I wonder if it still feels the same? Then again, if it's an 85'ish female, I think it's time to stop.

    We all differ.

Cebu is a big city and it all depends on where you go and where to stay in that area. The wife and I have a house in south Cebu area, down the coast and closer to CarCar than the city of Cebu and I would not change it for anywhere in the Philippines.

I have been to CarCar a few times, it's the place with the giant shoe

I love Cebu City.. Like someone who mentioned it as "Little Manila", it didn't feel nearly as overwhelming to me. I liked being able to watch sports from my own country (baseball in U.S.). Only big cities had sports bars where I could do that. The pollution isn't nearly as bad as Manila. My eyes burned while in Manila. Smelled like pee and petrol. Haha.

Manila always smells of human pee

Man I don't know what to say, I think all different countries have a dangerous and not so safe part to live in. But I think I can be safe in Cebu City.

There are many street corners here in England that smell of piss because people just can't be bothered to hold it.
