Marikina City has some quite strict regulations about the type of waste that gets picked up on specific days and how it's put out for collection.

We have 'Green Ribbon' days and 'Yellow Ribbon' days.

Green is for biodegradable waste and Yellow for non-biodegradable.

We almost got issued with a waste violation ticket the other day. The LGO came around inspecting the waste bags and said we will get a ticket for mismanagement as we had non-biodegradable items in our bag. Thanks to some quick thinking by my wife we managed to avoid it by saying we're new here and didn't know the rules and may we have a copy of the guidelines so we can be compliant blah blah blah.
We just got issued with a warning and not a violation ticket.
First violation ticket is P2000 penalty
Second is P3000 penalty
Third is P5000 penalty plus attendance at a waste management training programme.

I though those penalties pretty hefty really.
Glad we didn't have to pay. Our neighbours did have to pay with one neighbour on their second penalty.

I'm getting fed up with sorting it all out so I'll incorporate 2 waste bins in the kitchen

We have biodegradable pick-ups on Tuesdays and Fridays and non-bio on Saturday
