Interesting character Arthur. Started using "AA" out of gratitude to Alcoholics Anonymous who helped him to recovery. I remember reading him regularly when The London Evening Standard used to re print some of his articles . Occasionally controversial.

The big C is not a good thing for anyone to suffer from, but I wonder how may of his ailments were brought on by his lifestyle? Also, if it had spread did he seek early diagnosis and get treatment or 'man it out' until it was too late. Not that it changes anything for the guy now, but it might help others with potential issues now.
