Actor Peter Vaughan ...
... who has "petered out" at the venerable age of 93 after a lifetime of playing a wide variety of notable supporting [mainly menacing comedic] roles on British television.

But perhaps the part of "prison godfather" Harry Grout - "Grouty" - in the BBC's 1970s comedy series 'Porridge', is the one for which he's likely to BEST be remembered!

Yes, I always remember him playing baddies Arthur.
To be honest, I'd assumed he'd passed on years ago, but another one doing a good 'stretch' it seems.
If I reach 90 I'll be well-chuffed.
