Life is Good..
I've always been happy to retire to the Philippines.
It's now been just over 2 years here.
We first arrived here November 2014
First 18 months in Davao City next 7 months in between Cubao and Marikina City
Yes, I've had some issues but nothing too much. I've grown to see the advantages of life here.
I doubt there is anything to convince me to return to UK.
Life here is really quite free. I can do pretty much whatever I want.
Here in Marikina there everything I want. Anything else is within a few minutes ride on the LRT.
For those folks who may have a retirement life in the Philippines planned in their minds, with a few givens, it's a great choice.
I enjoyed a life in Davao and Mindanao, especially as we had so many family members there.
But living in our house, rather than renting, and doing whatever we want in terms of refurbishment is just the best.
Our decision to return to Marikina from Davao was made in perfect timing. Especially with the drop in RoE.
Today we made a big effort to decorate our humble home with Christmas decorations and lights.
Wow. Beautiful.
The world is our oyster...

Good to hear Peter.
I only got back yesterday, but missing my loved ones so much already.
Health would be my big concern if deciding to retire there.
Ok now ... BUT.
I don't fancy bankruptcy AND a painful death.
Other than that, I could live on my meagre pension I reckon.

Thanks Michael.
We had just been to the school of my niece (who lives with us).
She'd wanted me to sign and collect her report ... in front of the whole school.

Yeah, I have an OAP bungalow Michael, and I think it's taking the P if I'm sauntering off for a couple of months at a time. Don't want to upset the council. These places are like rocking horse poo.
I'll just pay the extra for several shorter trips.
