The long haul with a 2 yr old
Hi guys,
well my wife son & I are off the CDO 14th October via PAL direct, any tips on how to keep our little man occupied etc most gratefully received!
Our cell phones are loaded with Cbeebees programs. Its a 3 hour train trip, 5 hours at Heathrow and then 14.5 hour flight and another 1.5 hour flight next day deep joy
Thanks

The great thing about 2 year-olds (lucky little blighters), is that they can sleep for half of the trip.
It sounds like you have taken plenty to keep him amused the rest of the time. Make sure he has his favourite toys too of course, and I think it helps to walk (toddlers) around the cabin as much as possible, to use up energy .
So much depends upon an individual child's character. My elder son was never any trouble at all on several long journeys to and from the Phils... starting at 3 months old.

Children of that age can't equalise their ears like we can so it can be painful when taking off and landing. The best tip I was given is to feed them on both take off and landing so the act of swallowing equalises the ears, just time the feed so they're hungry at the right time

We took both Lenii and Jasper to China a couple of times with no problems, I think they were both too excited to let anything bother them. After a short time they were both asleep.
