UK Battalion Undertakes Duties in Poland & Estonia

It appears hundreds of British troops are being drafted into these Eastern European countries, to fulfill a NATO pledge to ward~off the possible threat of further *Russian aggression ... following the *latter's annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine two years' ago.

Since this thread's about the deployment of the British Armed Forces to Poland, etc., it reminds me of a folk song I'd heard a few times in my youth ... albeit with my now changing certain words to tie-in with their present context:

    Warsaw the 42nd
    Warsaw
    them gaen awa'?
    Warsaw
    the 42nd
    Mairchin' doon
    the Broomielaw.

    Some
o' them hae an' Glock guns
    Some
    o' them ... ... hae nane at a'
Maist o' them hae kilts 'n' stockins'
    Mairchin' doon
    the Broomielaw.

    Notable modifications are as follows,
    viz-

Wha saw (who saw) in this case, becomes Warsaw. ? Aye well, maybe. But then ... ... all of us have our wee eccentricities, and I'm no exception.
