I will say bye for now, but i will come back very soon for i still need your help and guidence as of yet, but 1st we will have that long awaited honeymoon :-)

    Take care
    God bless

Yes, it most certainly is ... and I'll echo those sentiments by wishing the two of them a wonderful life as a couple here in the UK.

    Hello all
My wife is now here in the UK almost 7 weeks now
and she is getting use to our lovely cold winte days brrrrrr

Can i register my wife as my carer and pay her with my own allowences, and some extra money from my pensions, so that she can stay at home without having to look for a job and look after me?

    Regards
    LG

You don't have to register your wife but she can just stay at home to look after you if that's what you both want.

I am taking this as you claim some sort of disability benefit so yes you can choose whoever you want that money to go to.

If she is that type of girl who is willing to do that and is happy with it then why not .

Please remember that your wife has no recourse to public funds so if you mean by registering her as a carer for ie: carers allowance then that's a no no...

Hi LG, sorry, need a lil catching up with hubby, you know. I arrived here in UK last Feb 25 ( a day after my hubby's bithday) but it's alright. so I'm like more than a week in here now. We are living in Dorset. next Saturday, I will be flying from Southampton to Manchester to visit my in-laws. How are you? Where in Uk are you from? I hope to meet some Filipina here in Dorset, I bumped into one Filipina waiting for her kid out a primary school. We just say Hi to each other. That's just it lol. Hope you're doing great, it was really cold in here I'm always out running with hubby to get use to the weather.

    Hello
    How's things with you all?
My wife and I are getting use to being together now and we are settling down ok.
At first it was a bit tricky for her being in a strange place like here in the UK

Can anyone tell me what countries can we visit without my wife having to get a visa everywhere, as i am a holder of a UK passport i find it easy to go from one country to another without applying for a visa all the time, that is in most countries thoughout the free world
I love to go a wandeing here and there and my wife loves to travel a lot too.
Is there a list of cou tries that she can go to outside of the UK without a visa?
Can anyone direct me to a site with some more info on this?

    Thanks a lot
    Regards
    LG

She can enter Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and some other countries in Asia with her Philippines passport. Someone will be along with the link showing the actual list of countries.

As she is your wife it is straightforward to get her a Schengen Visa (call the VFS and insist on an appointment with an embassy instead of using their services, they have to give you this option - search for Schengen Visa experience on this forum) or a US visa (US Embassy in Mayfair, London, process was easier than I expected - you can't go in with her btw).

Here is a very good resource for visa information. and it can be used for citizens of all countries. Just input to the drop-down menu at the right hand side, or alternatively select a country from the main page then enter the citizenship and residence details on the drop-down menu for some good detailed information.

Here's another good resource that shows all the countries that Philippine citizens can visit without visa

Thank you all for your tips on where we can both travel together

Another thing i'm thinking of is....to change my UK passport to the country of my birth, Ireland
The only thing i'm worried about is this...Would my wife lose her UK visa if i did this?

    Thanks very much

Congrats on getting your wife home I think she will love Hampton Court, theres a number of filipinas there and a decent sized pinay community in kingston and the surrounding areas.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again. But life goes on.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the passion that she shows to the outside world.

I'd check your local council web site. I assume you were under a single occupancy and therefore getting a 25% reduction in your council tax (this will vary on a council to council basis), but if you were I'd advise them straight away or once they find out they'll chase you for any back payment due.
